I own over 500 blades from various manufacturers from custom to off the production line. This knife has to be the most surprising so far. Let's talk about the blade first. The knife came sharp out of the box but, after a few minutes on the strop I had the blade razor sharp. It's honestly the sharpest knife I have ever held. Just with the weight of the blade and no pressure I am able to slice through a tomato halfway. That's dangerously sharp! Sharper even compared to other magna knives in my collection. The copper color blade finish is really exquisite like an old- fashioned blade that's aged gracefully over time. The quality of the handle is also very surprising with absolutely zero hot spots. The contours fit my fingers perfectly and I would gladly say the knife in my hands is extremely comfortable. It's comparable to a pair of racing gloves you don't notice you are wearing. The seamless balance from hand to blade makes the user feel as though the blade has become an extension of the body. As for the sheath, that's the only downside. My knife did rattle in the sheath and I will always prefer leather to kydex. It was a simple remedy and I just ordered a sheath from another manufacturer since there was no option to purchase leather from Dawson. I will undoubtedly be purchasing more Dawson knives.
